I’m looking forward to the Hiwassee River Rafting trip on Saturday August 12th, 2023. The Hiwassee river is fed from TVA’s Apalachia reservoir. The water is fairly cool year round. On a 90+ degree day it feels great to get into the river. NOTE - you will be getting wet.
The trip down the river will usually take 2-1/2 – 3-1/2 depending on how much “play time” you want on the river. If you want to play on the river, reserve a Duckie. There isn't much playing in a tube or a raft. We will plan to be on the river at around 1:00 pm . Here is the itinerary:
Robert Haile will be our "river guide".... Hopefully Bob Tramel will be our "sweeper" which means that Bob will go behind all of us in case someone gets in trouble or needs a little help.
- Meet at Webbs Store 12:00-12:15 PM to sign waivers and pick up gear. OR EARLIER
- We'll take the 1:00 shuttle
- Get on the river at 1:30 PM(ish)
- Arrive back at Webbs at 4:30 (ish)
- Eat at Hopefully we will eat where we did last year.. resturant across thek bridge, for right now that is TBD
