Happy Sunday Hikers,

This is a rather long email, however very important that you read before the Len Foote Hike-Inn trip.   Please reply to me which option you for choosing below!!! We don’t want anyone left behind. 

We have 4 options for getting to the Hike-Inn.  

  1. Option 1 is to meet for breakfast at the Cracker Barrel in Dalton, Ga, 938 Market Street, Exit 333 off I-75 at 8:30 am. 
  2. Option 2 is for those of you who don't want to eat, but will join the breakfast group at Cracker Barrel to caravan to Amicalola Falls, leaving Cracker Barrel at 9:30 am.  
  3. Option 3 is to meet us at the Visitors Center @ Amicalola Falls State Park @ 11:00 am  to sign-in, drive up the hill, park, and hike together.  
  4. Option 4 is to go on your own, and we'll see you at the Hike-Inn.  

Remember, everyone MUST ALL REGISTER BEFORE GETTING ON THE TRAIL (at the Visitors Center @ Amicalola Falls just inside the main gate (before driving up the hill to where we park and the trail starts).  

This is very important….****** NOTE**** When you arrive at the park gate, DO NOT PAY  to come into the park, be sure and tell the Park Ranger that you are spending the night at Len Foote Hike-Inn. You will pay your parking fee when you register at the Visitor Center.

 Also, Hike-Inn has asked for a $10 cash tip from each person.  Please do this, the tip is divided between ALL STAFF, cooks, waiters, bathroom cleaners, property cleaners, laundry people, front desk, yard & lawn workers…. everyone….. There will be “tip jars” in the dining room and the front office****

 Other items:

If you have never taken the tour on how the Hike-Inn is run organically and Green, you need to do this…. very fascinating & interesting… This tour usually starts promptly at 5:00 p.m. *** might be different this time so ask when you check in****

This year due to COVID the game room will have NO GAMES!!! If you have a game that you are willing to bring with you that would be great… I will be bringing LRC dice so bring your $1.00 bills if you would like to play….I will also bring a deck of “ROOK” cards. 

One more item:

If you have a Chattanooga Ski Club T-Shirt or hat or both, please bring with you for a “Group Picture”! I think this will be a Great Picture for the CSC Newsletter.

I guess that’s it….. Looking forward to a great hike with great friends and great fellowship.

Hello Hikers,

I have made reservations at Len Foote Hike Inn for **** Please note Date** Friday October 16, 2020** that means hike up on Friday and depart on Saturday October 17th. I have 10 rooms on hold.  You are all set to make your individual reservations yourself.

 ** Note registering on the event site does not give you a room, you must go to Hike Inn web site to secure your room***

You will need to go to hike-inn.com click on reservations at the top of the page, click on book now.  Arrival date: Friday October 16, 2020  Check out date: Saturday October 17, 2019. Adults: Max of 2 per room.  Promotional/Group code is CSC20.  Follow instructions below from Manager of Hike Inn- Angel

Go to www.hike-inn.com  



Promotional/Group Code: CSC 20 type in your group code, click apply (this will change the dates on the left to your groups dates) 

Click on the 1 room, 1 adult, no children menu and change the count to what you need it to be. If you need more than one room, click the plus sign and change that count to what you need it to be. Room count can be no more than 3, with at least one person being a child aged 12 or under. 

Then click check availability.  If there are rooms available you will see a box that says book it, click it to complete the reservation form. Double check the right hand side for rooms and amount of people in each room.  If you need to make changes there is box with an arrow that will take you back to the first page. 

Once all the guest info, special info, payment info, the booking and privacy policy are agreed to, click book now.

Hike-Inn Reservations

We have 10 rooms  reserved under that code.  If you forget to use the code it might show sold out for that date. 

If you like to hike and have never done this before, you will love this fantastic moderate hike.  The trail is well maintained without a lot of rocks or roots on the trail.  It is uphill most of the five miles.  You will need to carry your clothes and toiletries for the evening and the next morning.  When you reach the Inn, you will fall in love with this place and will want to go back again.  Awaiting you will be a delicious home-cooked dinner (family style) and a hearty breakfast.  Alcohol can be packed in.  For more info, see their website @ Hike-Inn.com.  Be aware that what you carry in you must also carry out.

****. There is also a $10 per room tip that must be paid while you are at the Inn.  Cancellation is up to 7 days out with a $10 per room cancellation fee.
