Hello Creepers,
We have 18 headed to Abingdon in just 17 days. I will be arriving early Friday to go to "Will Call" at the Barter to pick up our theatre tickets. Contact me when you get settled in at your lodging to get your tickets from me. I will be at "Park Street Guest House" 135 Park Street SE. This is also where "Command Central/Happy Hour" will be located. There is a large "screened in porch" where Larry Plemons, Bernie Hilbrandt & I will be sharing "Margarita's" !!!! Oh course bring your own BYOB, and snacks to share.
**** IMPORTANT**** When you arrive Friday, you must go to the bike shop to pay for your shuttle ride/rentals(if needed). Do this Friday! Do not wait until Saturday morning to do this!!!
You are own your own Friday night for dinner, just "Google" restaurants in Abingdon and you will find a several to choose from. Our "Group" dinner is Saturday night 5:30 p.m. at "Bonefire Smoke House" so you might not want to choose that one for Friday night. If you want to eat at the "Tavern" you will probably want to call and make reservations.
We need to be at the Barter at least by 7:40 p.m. to be seated (our seats are on 2nd. and 3rd. rows. So plan your dinner accordingly.
Saturday Morning, we are on the 8:30 shuttle. Be at the Bike Shop by 8:00 a.m. this is also very important as October is the most popular month of the Creeper Ride, the fall leaves should be gorgeous along the trail.
Bob Trammel is the "Trail Captain" for this fall ride... he will give us instructions at the Bike Shop Saturday morning so please be on time...
See you Friday October 19, 2018 in Abingdon, VA

The Virginia Creeper Trail is possibly the easiest, prettiest mountain bike ride you will ever encounter. The VA Creeper Trail, which is actually the "retired" railway corridor of the Virginia-Carolina Railroad, has become one of the most popular bicycling trail destinations in the eastern United States.
The Va Creeper Trail stretches 34 miles from Abingdon, Virginia down thru the lovely town of Damascus, Va (known as the Heart of the Va Creeper) along the Whitetop Laurel River and up to its highest point Whitetop Station near the NC State Line at Whitetop, Virginia. The Va Creeper Trail is open year round to hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.
This former rail bed passes through the Mount Rogers National Recreation area and the highland country of Southwestern Virginia. The Virginia Creeper Trail is rich in beauty and regional history. This is an easy biking adventure that you and your friends and family will talk about for a long time.
Join us on this October 19-21, 2018 ride. At this time we have 18 CSC riding the trail.
Contact Barb Wise for information no lodging and booking your shuttle/bike rental (if necessary) to the top of White Top Mountain
